Several 75 students designed the vehicle, named Orca, for eight months. The car is made from cutting special-steel frame and a carbon dioxide fiber body. But the best benefit of the car is that it can go from zero to 100 kmph rate in a mere 3. 47 seconds. This speeding, is reportedly, faster than any other performance car produced by auto giants of the likes of Porsche, Audi or Tesla. The light-weight carbon-fiber body stabilizes the car at high speeds.
"With an velocity of 0-100kmph in 3. 47 seconds, ORCA is faster than some other sports car made by Porsche, Tesla or Audi. Not only is the acceleration a record, is it doesn't first time we have a special steel-frame framework with carbon-fiber created body, which not only reduces the weight but also stabilizes the car at high speeds, " said Rishabh Kappasia, a 4th-year student of Engineering Physics and leader of Crew ORCA,
With sponsors such as NCB Bearings, Tata Motors, CEAT Tires and others, the car will represent India in the Formula Pupil UK competition, an gross annual auto competition where digital and IC engine vehicles compete on the details of sort of engineering and presentation skills, among others.
"The car rocks! to drive thanks to the transportable, and its steadiness increases at high rates, " added Manthan Mahajan, a 4th-year student who drives ORCA whenever the team participates in a competition.
